Amy Trahey, P.E.
President / Founder / Visionary
Amy was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan, and always had an interest in bridges and buildings, an interest that only grew as she traveled with her family to cities with unique infrastructure such as Chicago. These interests, combined with her desire to attend college in state but away from home, Amy decided to attend Michigan Tech. She graduated with a Civil Engineering degree and went on to work for Michigan Department of Transportation in the research and design division. After spending over 6 years at MDOT and faced with a decision to climb the corporate ladder, she decided it was time to start her own firm. GLEG started in Amy’s basement with a computer and a printer. 24 years later with over 50 employees and two offices across the state, GLEG is flourishing and continues to grow.
