This project kicked-off in 2019 and consisted of bridge scoping services for 6 “Big Bridge” structures located throughout the MDOT Metro Region along the I-94, M-39, I-696, I-75 and M-102 Corridors. All are major corridors that experience high volumes of semi-truck traffic and commuter traffic. Single lane closures were permitted only between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to minimize the impact from peak morning/evening traffic. This project was broken down several phases: bridge file review, in-depth field inspection, engineering analysis, evaluation of different repair options, draft and final bridge scoping report preparation, and routine bridge safety inspection reports for all structures.
